“From the Vault” is a specially curated, limited showing of some of the most compelling and rare artwork and photographs from the iconic band, the Grateful Dead. This unique event includes original and hand-signed artwork from founder Jerry Garcia and band members Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, as well as personal items from Jerry Garcia, including his briefcase, black t-shirt and leather chair where he sat while creating many of his artworks. “From the Vault: The Art of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead” opens to the public on Thursday, April 19th and runs through Sunday, April 29th. All items are available for purchase.

Also included in this exhibit are photographs from Rolling Stone magazine’s First Chief Photographer Baron Wolman. Wolman took the iconic 1969 photograph of Jerry Garcia displaying his missing finger, which became a symbol for Grateful Dead fans. Wolman also was at their house at Haight Ashbury in 1967 where they congregated on the front steps after being bailed out of jail. The band posed for the photo, holding firearms and flipping the bird, for the first issue of a yet to be published new magazine called Rolling Stone.
